OvoHi is a language learning and cross-cultural exchange platform for users around the world. It helps users reduce language, regional, and cultural barriers through multilingual communication, translation, content sharing, and culture-focused conversations.
At OvoHi, we treat privacy and security as important considerations when designing and operating our services. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information and make product decisions with respect for user privacy.
Before using OvoHi services, please carefully read this Privacy Policy. Unless you have read and accepted all terms of this policy, please stop using OvoHi services immediately. Once you check or tap “Agree to the Privacy Policy”, you are deemed to have fully understood and accepted this Privacy Policy.
1. Scope of This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy applies to websites, applications, events, and other services operated under the OvoHi brand. We refer to all of these as “Services” in this Privacy Policy.
2. Information We Collect
- (1) Account Registration
When you register for OvoHi, you need to provide login information and certain basic details necessary for us to provide the service, such as email address or phone number, username, gender, date of birth, country, language, and avatar. The username, email address, or phone number you provide will be used as your login credential for OvoHi.
When completing your profile, you may share additional information with us, such as personal introduction text and photos. To add photos, you may need to allow us to access your camera or album. This helps us provide better service and experience.
We collect your date of birth (year, month, and day) to determine whether you meet the age requirement. OvoHi is intended for users who are at least 18 years old, and users under 18 may not register for or use the service.
We collect your language to better provide translation services. Multilingual real-time translation is also one of our core features.
- (2) User-Generated Content and Communications
When you use messages, voice features, profile content, moments, comments, images, videos, reports, customer support, or other community features, we may process the content you provide or send. This processing may be used to send, display, store, translate, deliver, secure, review reported content, provide customer support, and meet legal or compliance obligations.
- (3) Device, Usage, and Operational Security Data
To protect your account, network, operational, and system security and to prevent fraud, abuse, phishing, malware, and technical failures, our servers may automatically record device identifiers, IP address, operating system, app version, language settings, crash logs, access time, feature usage, payment verification status, and similar technical information.
- (4) Camera Function
After you enable camera permission, you may use this function to take photos or videos for upload and sharing. Even if you have enabled camera permission, we access the camera only when you actively use the relevant function in the app. We handle related content according to this Privacy Policy and applicable law.
- (5) Storage Permission
We need access to your device storage/photo album permission when you upload or update your account avatar or publish images and videos. If you refuse to enable these permissions, we will not be able to provide the corresponding functions, but this will not affect your use of other platform features.
- (6) Microphone Voice Function
When you send voice messages, microphone permission is required. Even if you have enabled microphone permission, we will only access the microphone when you actively tap the microphone icon in the app to capture voice information. If you do not use this function, you may deny this permission. This will not affect your use of other platform features.
- (7) Push Notifications, Translation, Purchases, and Third-Party Services
If you enable push notifications, we may process notification tokens and related delivery data to send service notices, security reminders, community messages, and membership notices. Translation features may require processing text, voice, or other user-generated content through OvoHi systems or third-party service providers. In-app purchases, subscriptions, coins, and order verification may be processed by Apple App Store, Google Play, payment processors, and related service providers according to their rules. We may also use third-party services for hosting, analytics, security, customer support, translation, payment processing, and compliance support, and we require them to process information only for authorized purposes.
3. Data and Information Security
Messages, voice, and other user-generated content may be processed as described in this Privacy Policy for sending, displaying, translation, security, reporting review, customer support, and compliance purposes. We use multiple data encryption technologies and reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or loss.
We are committed to creating a safe, friendly, and respectful environment for all users. Users can report inappropriate content or behavior through the in-app reporting feature at any time. Our review team will review all reports and take appropriate action depending on the situation, including deleting violating content and restricting or banning users who violate rules. We will complete review and handling of all valid reports within 72 hours.
4. Personal Information Privacy and Security
Protecting user personal information is a fundamental principle of OvoHi. OvoHi will take reasonable measures to protect user personal information. Without user permission, OvoHi will not publicly disclose or reveal user personal information to third parties. OvoHi uses multiple methods to protect the security of relevant information. Therefore, this website/app will not publicly disclose, edit, rent, or sell user information to anyone without user authorization, except in the following circumstances:
- (1) You agree to allow third parties to share the information;
- (2) Disclosure of your personal information is necessary to provide the products and services you request;
- (3) Disclosure is necessary to prevent imminent danger to your life, body, or property, or to prevent significant harm to the rights and interests of others;
- (4) We need to provide information to companies that provide products or services on our behalf;
- (5) We discover that you have violated the terms of service of this website/app or any other product or service rules.
5. Other Terms
To better enjoy the services provided by OvoHi, you agree and warrant that: (1) the information you provide to OvoHi is true, lawful, accurate, complete, and up to date, and you will not maliciously register an OvoHi account by any means, including but not limited to using an invalid phone number, invalid or unverified email address, or another person’s identity; (2) if the above information changes, you will update it promptly; and (3) you will keep your OvoHi account unique during use.
If a member provides any false, inaccurate, or incomplete information, or if OvoHi has reason to suspect that the information is false, inaccurate, incomplete, violates member registration terms, or conflicts with the language learning and cross-cultural exchange purpose of the service, OvoHi has the right to modify or delete the member information, temporarily or permanently close the member account, or suspend or terminate all or part of OvoHi services.
6. Data Retention and User Rights
We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain account and transaction records, resolve disputes, protect safety, comply with legal obligations, and enforce our agreements. Retention periods may vary by information type, feature, legal requirement, and business need. When information is no longer needed, we will delete, anonymize, or otherwise process it according to applicable law.
Subject to applicable law and verification requirements, you may request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of your personal information, and you may withdraw certain permissions or object to certain processing. Some requests may affect your ability to use related features. You may manage certain settings in the app or contact us at service@ovohi.site.
7. Termination of Service
- (1) You agree that, where this website/app has not charged you fees, it may, in its sole discretion, terminate your service password, account, or any part of it, or your use of the service, for any reason, including but not limited to the belief that you have violated the letter or spirit of this policy or acted in a manner inconsistent with it. Where this website/app has charged you fees, OvoHi may take the above termination action based on reasonable suspicion and with email notice. After account termination, this website/app has no obligation to retain information in or related to the original account or forward unread or unsent information to you or any third party. You also agree that this website/app will not be liable to you or any third party for terminating the service.
- (2) You may delete your account directly through the relevant feature in the service, such as “Settings” - “Account” - “Delete Account” in the app, or by contacting OvoHi customer support. We will delete your information after receiving your deletion request. If you have any questions about account use, please contact us.
If a member stops using the service or the service is terminated, OvoHi may permanently delete member data from the server. After the service stops or terminates, OvoHi has no obligation to return any data to the member.
8. Disclaimer
- (1) Members understand and confirm that OvoHi products and services are provided as-is based on current technology and conditions. OvoHi cannot guarantee that its products and services will be flawless. The service may be interrupted or fail to meet member requirements and expectations due to force majeure, computer viruses or hacker attacks, system instability, network interruptions, member device shutdown, communication line issues, or similar reasons. When these situations occur, OvoHi will work with relevant parties to repair issues promptly, but OvoHi is not liable for losses caused to members or third parties as a result.
- (2) Members understand and confirm that content uploaded or shared by members through OvoHi services does not represent or reflect OvoHi’s views. OvoHi will make reasonable efforts to review such content in accordance with applicable rules, but cannot fully control content transmitted through OvoHi services and does not guarantee its correctness, completeness, or quality. During use of OvoHi services, users may encounter misleading, deceptive, threatening, defamatory, offensive, illegal, anonymous, or impersonating information or behavior from others. OvoHi is not liable for any loss suffered by members or third parties as a result.
- (3) For advertisements, links, information, and similar content displayed on OvoHi-related pages, OvoHi will perform obligations required by law toward advertisers. Members acknowledge and agree that these advertisers and advertisement content are not controlled by OvoHi. Members should carefully judge the authenticity, legality, and reliability of advertising information. Any behavior or dispute between a member and an advertiser or ad owner through OvoHi products and services is the member’s own responsibility to resolve. Except for responsibilities imposed by law on ad publishers, OvoHi assumes no additional liability, but may provide necessary assistance as required by law.
- (4) For photos, materials, documents, and personal information uploaded or provided by members, OvoHi has adopted relevant measures and made reasonable efforts to review them, but does not guarantee their authenticity, legality, or reliability. The member who uploads such content bears responsibility.
- (5) Members make independent judgments in language learning, cultural exchange, and community interaction activities and independently bear any adverse consequences and responsibilities. OvoHi is not legally liable for member losses not directly caused by OvoHi.
- (6) Members download or obtain any materials through OvoHi at their own discretion and risk. OvoHi is not liable for any damage to computer systems or data loss caused by downloading materials.
- (7) OvoHi is not responsible for events or organizations voluntarily organized or established by members.
- (8) OvoHi will make reasonable efforts to carefully verify member complaints, but does not guarantee the authenticity or legality of complaints ultimately made public. If complaint content infringes a member’s privacy, reputation, or other lawful rights, the complainant bears all legal responsibility and OvoHi is not responsible.
- (9) OvoHi is not legally liable for loss or reduction of accounts or account property that cannot be recovered due to lack of identity verification or inaccurate verification information.
9. Intellectual Property
The copyrights, patents, and other intellectual property rights in the software on which OvoHi relies to provide the service belong to OvoHi. The graphics, text or combinations thereof, and other OvoHi logos, product names, and service names involved in the service are owned by OvoHi as copyrights or trademarks.
10. Other Terms
- (1) Resolution of disputes between users. You understand and agree that OvoHi provides language learning, cross-cultural exchange, and community communication services to you and other members. Whether online or in real life, you are solely responsible for your conduct in interactions with other OvoHi users. If you have a dispute with another user, you understand and agree that OvoHi has no legal obligation to monitor or handle disputes between you and other members.
- (2) We regularly monitor our systems for potential vulnerabilities and attacks, and regularly review our information collection, storage, and processing practices to update our physical, technical, and organizational security measures. If we suspect or discover any security breach, we may suspend your right to use all or part of the service without notice. If you believe your account or information is no longer secure, please notify us immediately.
